Multi-Sensory Performance Piece – 13 min
With comedy and pathos, a fading picture of a Grandmother is painted relying on the so called “lower senses” to carry history forwards when names and vision fail.
The audience is asked for their tactile, auditory, gustatory and olfactory participation for the portrait to be fully realized. The piece uses miles of yarn, recorded oral history mixed with live storytelling and a sad trombone, matzo ball soup and fresh dill to realize an absent protagonist.
